Honor Price A Warriors of the Mist Novel Alexis Morgan Books

I started reading Alexis Morgan about 7 years ago. I found her characters to be extremely well written. No matter the PNR factor the characters themselves were extremely believable. My problems with Ms. Morgan is she feels the need to end her series.. sometimes before they should be. I know, how dare I presume to say when a series should end? And to state that it's done prematurely? Well, I would tell you if I felt like the series went on too long, so why wouldn't I tell you when it wasn't long enough.

Why am I babbling about this?? Well, I'll tell you. Honor's Price is book three in Ms. Morgan's Warriors of the Mist Series and it ended the series. It has these awesome characters, an intense battle of good vs evil, honor, loyalty and most importantly of all, love. In short it was brilliant, except...

The main couple in this book was Kane, a mage marked warrior, and Theda, the sister-in-law of the evil Duke. These two struggled to maintain their inner light while living in utter darkness.

Theda knew her brother in law had killed her husband, she hated him, but she had no way of fighting him. In a world where the man was a true and total ruler it is easy for a woman to be used and abused. Theda may have chosen to leave except her b-i-l held the safety of her women and step son against her. If she wasn't compliant, they were dead.

Kane is the Warrior with the darkest past. His grandfather was an evil mage and marked Kane in utero. But Kane was born an honorable man (child). He fought the evil and left his family behind him. When he met Gideon (the Captain of the Warriors) he found a man who refused to judge him by the mark and instead judged him by his actions. Kane and Gideon became true friends and when Gideon was "damned" to become a Warrior of the Mist, Kane followed.

Theda and Kane recognize the essence of each other rather quickly but their relationship managed to develop slowly. I love when an author pulls this off. It's so easy to meet and fall in love in two days (at least in books). I appreciate that even with all that was going on, Ms. Morgan managed to make their relationship realistically. But that's what she does.

The Warriors must win their battle by the summer solstice, they have a promise to the Lord and Lady. They will be judged, if they succeed but haven't yet proven their worth, they return to the mist. If they fail, they are doomed to wander the afterlife as shades, with no hope of redemption, truly alone and damned (this fate also includes the person who called them forth). But, If they are proved worthy, they may be released to once again live among the humans. No longer forced to rest in the Mist until the next person calls them. Each time they succeed they know their chance of failure get better.

It's a scary risk each and every time but this time it's worse. Three of the Warriors have found love and Kane is falling.. How will they ever be able to truly leave these magnificent women behind??

The first three quarters of the book was a brilliant example of world building, character development and plot intricacies. Then we get into the part where Ms. Morgan ties it all together and wraps it up. For me it was just too fast. Too much to do in too little time. It wasn't rushed exactly I personally just felt that it needed a few more pages (or a hundred). I know it's not fair of me to be so harsh on what was truly a wonderful book. I just wanted more.. I wanted to feel like the Warrior's struggles had merit. This is truly hard for me because like I said, it was a great story.

Even with it's negatives I would still give this book four stars.. Ms. Morgan is that good! I just wish I could have more.. LOL..

Read the book, read the series, tell me I am wrong.. or point out where I went wrong in my thought process.. just read the book..

Honor Price A Warriors of the Mist Novel Alexis Morgan Books Reviews

I enjoyed this book an will download the rest recommend for a good read keep me reading till the end
This got me hooked on the series.
I liked it
I do not wish to give one single thing away so I will simply say ...Thank you!. now I am off to read the entire series one more time. Thank you Ms. Morgan.
Every book in this sequel is compelling, thought provoking, honor and integrity driven and thoroughly delightful! You will love the ending but wish there was more to it.
I enjoyed this three book series, it was a perfect ending too this series. And I hope they will be, stories like this,in the future.
This third and sadly last book of the Warriors of the Mist series was as well written as the first two. Good intrigue, nice wrap up and the characters were very believable. Perhaps Alexis Morgan will see fit to continue their story as Warriors of Agathia, since there are certainly still evil people to threaten the peace of this realm.
The only thing I didn't like was the cover. The guy in the picture looks more how I'd picture Averel, not a burly fighter-mage like Kane. But I know how little control authors sometimes have on that sorta thing, so I'll just enjoy Ms. Morgan's writing! After all I've purchased the entire Palidan series and the Talion series. And I don't buy these books as a habit; I work at a library for crying out loud )
