Great book, but the reason I decided to write something here is the preposterous art cover attached to this English translation.
It reminds me of 70's Science Fiction "B" movie poster and it doesn't have anything to do with the story or the whole atmosphere of the book .
The person who did this cover either never red the book or just missed the whole point of this work. Or the third and most probable option is that the publisher just decided to make the art cover "appealing" to the "general" audience.

Update 10/28/14: It's nice to see that amazon removed the image of the hideous cover from their web side. Unfortunately I suspect that this won't be the case with the physical copy of the book.

it is a gem, of course.But to even begin to understand why one has to learn russian. One has to study russian-soviet culture,which is not the same as post soviet russian culture. IT's not worth it.
